Greetings, My name is Java.
This is what my Foster Mom has to say about me:
Java is a super sweet young bully who has just had a stint of bad luck. Java is spayed up to date on shots, micro chipped. She was picked up as a stray in Fort Hood, Texas by the army base animal control officers. At the time she was very skinny and and needed a little TLC. The animal control officers decided to adopt her himself. At her new home she was provided lots of good food so she put on some weight and the family gave her lots of love. Unfortunately, because she was still a puppy she didn't understand how to be gentle with the officer's children even though she was crazy about her family and wanted to show them how much she appreciated them rescuing her. Sometimes she would get too rambunctious and would nip the kids, but not with the intention of hurting them, it was just the only way she knew to get them running (and what she thought was "playing"). Just like puppies do.
Java is now in a foster home with two boys ages 7 and 12. Java's foster Mom believes that she is learning to be gentler there have been no incidents since she has been in her foster home. She has been such a good girl since she arrived, adapting well to her sleeping crate, and never having even one accident inside the house. Java is a very bright, fun loving girl and she will make a great companion for almost anyone. She is very healthy so her only placement limitations will be that she goes to a home that is willing to work on her training to continue to teach her, manners, bite inhibition and preferably a home that has no cats, since she doesn't seem to be a fan. Java would do best in a home with no little children 7yrs and up.
